WEIGHING SCALES/ BALANCES

We specialize in the repair and maintenance of digital weighing scales

A weighing balance is an instrument that is used to determine the weight or mass of an object. It is available in a wide range of sizes with multiple weighing capacities and is an essential tool in laboratories, commercial kitchens and pharmacies.

Weighing Techniques

  • Direct Weighing. With nothing on the pan, set to zero by pressing the "on" button. Place weighing bottle, beaker, or vial on balance and set to zero again.

  • Indirect weighing (Weighing by difference) Place enough of the sample in a weighing bottle, put the lid on, and place on the scale.

Five precautions you must take for accurate sample weighing

  • Keep the balance calibrated.

  • Ensure appropriate environment.

  • Handle the weights properly.

  • Store the weights in the right manner.

  • Take the right measures to weigh the samples.

What are the proper steps for weighing chemicals on balances?

So, instead of weighing materials directly on the balance pan, --a weighing dish, a beaker, or a piece of folded paper. When you do, remember to weigh the container first or adjust for its weight. Be careful not to spill any chemicals on or around the balance
